"Lemon Popsicle" (also known as "Eskimo Limon" in Israel) is the first in a series of raunchy teenage sex comedies set in 1950's Israel. They were released to American audiences by Menaham Golan & Yoram Globus via the "Cannon" movie studio. Producers, Golan & Globus were extremely successful in the 1980's due to their involvement with the highly popular "Lemon Popsicle" film series.
"Lemon Popsicle" follows the hilarious exploits of 3 sex-starved teenagers, Bobby, Benji & Huey. Bobby (Jonathan Segall) is the ladies man, Benji (Yftach Katzur) is the sensitive shy boy & Huey (Zachi Noy) is the mischievous fat boy who is the brunt of most of the films jokes. The plot centres around Benji falling in love with a girl at school called Nikki, but Nikki ends up falling in love with ladies man Bobby & gets pregnant to him. Bobby doesn't want anything to do with the preganancy, so it is left to Benji to make arrangements for her to have an abortion. The plot however, is secondary, to the hilarious situations the characters find themself in & the dynamic Rock "n" Roll soundtrack.
The Lemon Popsicle films played to packed houses in European Cinemas & have proved very popular rentals on the video markets around the world. They are considered by many to be the predecessor of the famous American teen sex-comedy series "Porky's".
Sit back & enjoy the hilarious adventures of Benji, Bobby & Huey as they grow up in the Rock "n" Roll decade of the 1950's, interested in only one thing sex.
In 1982 Director Boaz Davidson remade "Lemon Popsicle" for American audiences. The new film was titled "The Last American Virgin". It features an entirely different cast and like the original has also developed a cult status worldwide.
